Henderson Road Bridge over the South Platte River

March 18, 2016

This Project requires the installation of micropiles. River flows must be diverted (using cofferdams) to allow these micropiles to be constructed. The bridge has substructure elements that have been rated as structurally deficient. This Project will address the structural deficiencies at piers 3 and 4. According to the most recent structure inspection report, the steel H-pile capacities have been reduced due to: corrosion (partial loss of H-pile section); degradation (partial loss of lateral support); and scour (attributed to the September 2013 flood).
