Myers and Sons Construction is currently seeking a project engineer to work on a couple Caltrans projects. The project locations are in San Francisco, Larkspur and El Portal. They include a CMGC Rockshed, Pedestrian Bridge and Steel Bridge Rehabilitation Project.

This person will work closely with the project manager, project owner, as well as Myers and Sons’ internal staff to complete projects in a timely and effective manner. This person must be self-motivated and willing to learn all aspects of the project, including scheduling in both preconstruction and construction, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, layout, survey and quality assurance.

Required Experience: Must have experience working on a Heavy Civil Project as a Project Engineer or Field Engineer.

The project is an upgrade to an existing 43 mgd water treatment facility. This project will construct new pretreatment and chemical injection facilities designed to maintain the plant’s capacity and enable the plant to accept increased amounts of local water in the future. The upgrades involve the construction of six facilities that will improve the plant operations. These facilities include; Pretreatment and Head Break Facility, Flocculant Aid Polymer Storage and Feed System, Raw Water Header Vault, Finished Water Blending Vault, Sulfuric Acid Storage and Feed System, and Sodium Hydroxide and Feed System.

Required Experience: Must have experience working as a Superintendent on a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant.

This person will work closely with the project manager, project owner, as well as Myers and Sons’ internal staff to complete projects in a timely and effective manner. The work includes modification of existing headworks, construction of new electrical building, construction of new pump station, anoxic basin and aeration basins and installation of all associated equipment. The work also includes construction of new secondary clarifiers, modification of existing chlorine contact chambers, construction of a new dechlorination chemical storage and dosing facility, construction of new mechanical and thickeners. Additional work includes installation of new pond return pumps and recycled water plant (RWTF) feed pumps and installation of RWTF membrane skids and RWTF distribution pumps. Additional tasks include complete site grading, yard piping, vaults (and flow meters), electrical, valving and gates (with actuators), paving, retaining walls, concrete walkways, and other appurtenances.

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to manage a Treatment Plant project in the Bay Area. This person will work closely with the Superintendent and Senior Management to ensure that the project is managed correctly and the work is performed in an efficient manner. This person must have an understanding of treatment plant construction.

Required Experience:
Must have 5 years or more of experience working on Heavy Civil or Treatment Plant Projects as a Project Manager or Engineer.

Preferred Background:
A Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree.
A licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training.
Experience with Primavera, Viewpoint or Heavy Job software is a plus.

Currently Myers and Sons Waterworks division has several projects across Northern California. Project sizes range from 5-50 Million dollars. These projects include retrofit and new construction of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and storm water pump stations. Myers and Sons self-performs all civil, structural concrete, and mechanical work. The office engineer will assist in key aspects of planning and execution of critical project elements.

Qualifications

Required Experience: Must have experience working on Heavy Civil Projects or a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Background: Experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants or Pump Stations.
