Mesa Water Treatmant Plant Phase 1 Upgrades

July 17, 2018

The Mesa WTP Phase 1 Upgrades are needed to address aging infrastructure, increased local water use, and extend the service life of the existing 43 million gallons per day (mgd) drinking water treatment facilities at the Colorado Springs Utilities Mesa WTP.  The Phase 1 design provides for construction of new pretreatment and chemical injection facilities to maintain plant capacity and provide the first step to enable the plant to accept increased amounts of local water while maintaining drinking water regulatory compliance. The project scope includes: reconfiguration of the solids drying beds, construction of a new main pretreatment building, construction of two small auxiliary buildings, and the construction of a new raw water vault.
