City of Boulder Central Ave. Br Replacement CMAR

The Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) will provide both pre-construction and construction phase services as outlined in Section 3 (CMAR Services). The project involves the demolition of existing concrete bridges, design and construction of a double-cell box culvert, ditch grading and stabilization, storm drain installation, utility coordination and relocation, roadway construction, and sidewalk improvements. Reference materials are available in Attachment D for further detail.
The City intends to replace both existing bridges with a double-cell box culvert within the current roadway alignment. The existing pedestrian bridge will be removed, and the sidewalk will be realigned to cross over the new culvert structure.
During the pre-construction phase, the CMAR will collaborate closely with the Engineer to support a highly integrated design process. The CMAR will assist in refining the design to facilitate efficient construction while maintaining alignment with the City’s budget. The Engineer will advance the design to a level sufficient to define the project scope and will deliver construction-ready documents prior to the start of the construction phase.
