First, we are looking for a Project Engineer on a Pump Station project in Manhattan Beach and a Project Engineer for a $13 million dollar water treatment project in San Bernadino, CA. The scope of work is new pump station, replacing vertical turbine pumps, concrete, associated piping, and paving. A Senior Manager will help you guide the team, take on responsibilities and become a valued member of the team.

Second, we are looking for a Project Engineer for a $25 million dollar Treatment Plant repair project at Terminal Island in San Pedro. The project includes structural repairs and improvements to concrete. Replacement of the sludge and scum collection system which include pumps, chains and flights. Installation of new aluminum tank covers. Replacement of the HPE piping system. Automate the tank influent gates (3 gates per tank). Installation of a new automated venturi bypass gate with passive overflow weir. Install tie-in locations on the deck at the perimeter of the tanks for personnel safety. Installation of three spool pipes per tank (total of 18), and installation of one new manual slide gate on tank 6.

This person will work closely with the project manager, area manager, company executives, project owner, superintendent as well as Myers and Sons’ internal staff to complete the project in a timely and effective manner. This person must be self-motivated and good at communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participating in creating the Project Budget and Buyout Strategy
  • Partner with Project Superintendent in development of a project site logistics plan
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the Myers/Owner contract
  • Oversee the pay request process
  • Monitor project costs and Job Cost Report
  • Analyze and forecast monthly Total Cost Projection reports
  • Implement and monitor training of all staff personnel
  • Monitor project labor
  • Lead the project’s quality process
  • Develop, schedule and lead project close-out processes
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, subcontractors and owners
  • Implement all applicable Safety Programs and EEO/Affirmative Action Programs

Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years of Experience in highly complex and related heavy civil construction projects
  • Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and self-perform work
  • Experience leading successful project team, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities
  • Excellent organizational, team management, problem solving, motivational skills
