  • Sr. Project Manager-Structures Central Valley

      We are currently looking for a Structures Project Manager with 10 – 15 years or more experience in the heavy civil construction industry to join our team. We have several bridge projects throughout the Central Valley totaling over $180 million dollars.

      Myers and Sons has been contracted for the construction of multiple structures, including cast in place bridges, precast bridges, box culverts and retaining walls.

      We are looking for a person that can develop a deep understanding of the project documents, including the contract with the owner, subcontracts, cost reports, CPM schedules, specifications, project deliverable documents, correspondence, billings, and related project controls items. This person should be capable of leading a project team on a fast-paced project and be knowledge in self-performed CIP concrete bridge work. Knowledge of Caltrans Standard plans and specifications is preferred. This person should also feel comfortable navigating and working within accounting and project documentation software such as Vista and be detailed oriented. In addition to office tasks, this person will work closely with the project superintendent(s) and project engineer(s) to develop and execute work plans as well as track costs.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Work On Site to help solve problems that occur during construction
      • Work within Vista to manage costs reports
      • Maintain thorough understanding of the contract with the Owner
      • Monitor and report project schedule and cost progress
      • Field work: Assist engineers and superintendents with work plans
      • Review and approve project invoices and subcontractor payables
      • Document control such as changes and claim management
      • Subcontractor management and development of subcontracts
      • Material procurement including purchase orders

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management or Engineering preferred
      • 10 – 15 Years or more of Experience in highway civil or structures construction projects in California.
      • Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and self-perform work
      • Excellent organizational, team management, problem solving, motivational skills.
      • Caltrans bridge experience preferred

  • General Superintendent-Water Colorado

      We are currently looking for a General Superintendent with 10 years plus experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant construction to join our team in Colorado. This role is based in Brighton, Colorado and involves managing complex infrastructure projects across the state. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in mechanical piping systems, and a deep understanding of equipment skid installation in treatment facilities. Myers has a robust treatment plant business across the Rocky Mountain Region that provides steady work and growth opportunities.

      We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated individual to build teams and projects up to $26 million. Current projects include the following work: excavation and installation of a large ground level water tank – installation of underground piping, manholes and vaults – site grading, yard piping, constructing concrete and FRP structures and pond lining – replacing flocculators and retrofitting of existing plant facilities – rehab of existing concrete filter basins- and the construction of a new chemical feed building. This person should be capable of leading a project team on a complex detailed oriented project and be knowledgeable in the self-performance of excavation, concrete, underground and mechanical. Most of our current projects are on the Front Range but the ideal candidate would be willing to travel throughout Colorado.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Understand and manage project scope, schedule and contractual obligations
      • Lead daily onsite construction activities and provide real-time solutions to field issues
      • Oversee subcontractor, supplier, vendor management and scheduling
      • Build work plans with assistance from project engineers and project manager
      • Establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with the Owner and their representatives to ensure clear communication, alignment on project goals, and proactive issue resolution.
      • Review and approve crew timecards in HeavyJob and regularly monitor labor and cost data in Viewpoint to identify trends, adjust, and ensure the project remains on budget.
      • Direct and mentor field personnel while fostering a Safety-First and company culture.

      Qualifications:

      • 10 Years or more of Experience in Treatment Plant construction projects
      • Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and self-perform work
      • Excellent organizational, team management, problem solving, motivational skills.

  • Project Engineer-Water Voorhees Project

      At Myers and Sons Construction every day is different and as a Project Engineer you are exposed to every facet of construction, allowing you to grow your knowledge base and advance your career at a rapid pace.       We are looking for a Project Engineer on a Pump Station project in Manhattan Beach. $13 million dollar water treatment project in San Bernadino, CA. The scope of work is new pump station, replacing vertical turbine pumps, concrete, associated piping, and paving. A Senior Manager will help you guide the team, take on responsibilities and become a valued member of the team.

      This person will work closely with the project manager, area manager, company executives, project owner, superintendent as well as Myers and Sons’ internal staff to complete the project in a timely and effective manner. This person must be self-motivated and good at communication.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Participating in creating the Project Budget and Buyout Strategy
      • Partner with Project Superintendent in development of a project site logistics plan
      • Maintain thorough understanding of the Myers/Owner contract
      • Oversee the pay request process
      • Monitor project costs and Job Cost Report
      • Analyze and forecast monthly Total Cost Projection reports
      • Implement and monitor training of all staff personnel
      • Monitor project labor
      • Lead the project’s quality process
      • Develop, schedule and lead project close-out processes

  • Project Engineer- Structures Ferguson Road

      We are looking for a Structures Project Engineer interested in heavy civil experience with 2 years’ experience to join our team on our Ferguson Project located in El Portal near Yosemite National Park.

      Myers and Sons received a contract to restore full highway access to State Route 140 on the existing alignment that has been blocked by a rockslide that occurred in 2006.  The project will consist of building the Rockshed structure, which will be a reinforced concrete box structure supported on concrete piles and anchored to tie backs into the canyon wall.

      We are looking for a person that can develop a deep understanding of the project documents, including the contract with the owner, subcontracts, cost reports, CPM schedules, specifications, project deliverable documents, correspondence, billings, and related project controls items. This person should feel comfortable navigating and working within accounting and project documentation software such as Vista and be detailed oriented.  In addition to office tasks, this person will work closely with the project superintendent to develop and execute work plans and perform construction layout using AutoCAD and surveying equipment.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Work On Site to help solve problems that occur during construction

  • Project Engineer-Structures Tim Bell Road

      We are looking for a Structures Project Engineer interested in heavy civil construction with 2 to 5 years’ experience to join our team on our Tim Bell Road Bridge Replacement Project in Stanislaus County.

      Myers and Sons have been contracted for a structural project to remove and reconstruct the existing Tim Bell Road Bridge over Dry Creek.  The project consists of replacing the existing historical bridge with a combination of a flat slab bridge and parabolic box girder.  Work includes large diameter CIDH pile, falsework, trestle and bridge post tensioning. The project is expected to be completed over the course of two seasons.

      We are looking for a person that can develop a deep understanding of the project documents, including the contract with the owner, subcontracts, cost reports, CPM schedules, specifications, project deliverable documents, correspondence, billings, and related project controls items. This person should feel comfortable navigating and working within accounting and project documentation software such as Vista and be detailed oriented.  In addition to office tasks, this person will work closely with the project superintendent to develop and execute work plans and perform construction layout using AutoCAD and Lecia surveying equipment.
