This is a progressive design-build delivery method project for a water treatment facility serving new residential and community development. The development will consist of approximately 300 homes, a community center, and a retreat center. The project was managed and constructed by a design-built team led by the general contractor.Design began in September 2020, with construction commencing in August 2021. Initially scoped as Phase I with a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $8.9 million, the project was expanded during construction to include Phase II, increasing the facility’s treatment capacity to 260 gallons per minute.The scope includes installation of three water storage tanks with a total capacity of 675,000 gallons of treated water, a booster pump station, a sewer lift station, a hydropneumatics tank, a chemical treatment chain, a backwash tank, and an operations building. Additional work includes miscellaneous site improvements and civil infrastructure. The project also includes the development of two new wells to supply groundwater for the treatment process.
