Pre-Anoxic & Aeration Improvements

March 18, 2015

Job Number: 0085

This project involves new construction in three areas of an existing wastewater treatment plant. The scope includes additions to the Pre-Anoxic Basins, Blower and Aeration Improvements to the existing Oxidation Ditches, and construction of a third secondary clarifier along with a Return Activated Sludge (RAS) Pump Station.  Work on the Pre-Anoxic Basins includes the addition of two 30’ x 30’ concrete basins constructed adjacent to the existing Oxidation Ditches. These basins will be open-topped and equipped with floor-mounted mixers to ensure proper mixing. The scope also includes stainless steel slide gates and other miscellaneous components to support operational needs.  The Aeration System will feature two new blower buildings housing blower motors for the upgraded aeration system. Stainless steel piping and fine bubble diffusers will be installed on the floor of the existing Oxidation Ditches. Installation will be staged to maintain continuous operation of at least one existing Oxidation Ditch.  The Secondary Clarifier component includes construction of a new 130’ diameter clarifier that will operate in parallel with the plant’s two existing units. Supporting infrastructure includes a new RAS Pump Station, associated earthwork, underground piping, and electrical systems to integrate the new clarifier with the existing setup.
